We are a five piece band by the name of Calypso Train.We come from different parts of the country (Offaly, Tipperary, Belfast and West Cork) but we all met while pursuing a degree in music. Four of us are currently completing our third year of a music degree in UCC and one of us has just finished his fourth and final year. Our band consists of Lead singer and Guitar (Mark Lyndon), Bass guitar and backing vocals (Andy Flynn), Saxophone (Dave Carville), Drums (Dave Ryan) and Keyboard (Marlene Enright). We have been gigging together just over a year and have gigged in cork city in places such as the Old Oak, Cyprus Avenue, The Cruiscin Lan, Sinners and Cubiculo. We recently won the UCC covers battle of the Bands. We recorded a demo this time last year. Unfortunatly Dave Carville was not a member of the band at that stage so the demo does not contain any Saxophone! However, we hope to record another demo with some extra tracks that we have been working on throughout the year over the summer. Apologies for not having a website that we can ask you to check out, we are working on one! But for the moment keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for any upcoming gigs!
